This summer I am going to Kenya with Jengana to help with their charity projects in Nairobi and in the countryside.
As a Geography teacher who loves to get out of the classroom and see Geography in action this has been a long time dream of mine
I am conscious how privileged our lives are compared to many in the world who have so little. I want to give my time and energy this summer to help however I can.
I have paid my travel but have been targeted to raise £1000 each for Jengana’s projects. Jengana is a small charity and relies on its group participants to raise money for the range of projects they run in the children’s home, slums, local schools and countryside.
I would love it if you could give your time and or support our fundraising activities for this worthwhile charity. We have a few events where you can come along and support us.
We are going to have a coffee morning on Saturday 23rd May in First Holywood Presbyterian church hall from 10 am - 12 noon. Come along for a cuppa and cake. Bring your friends and family.
On Saturday 6th June I will be participating in the Jengana challenge; a walk; cycle; kayak and run! Welcome to come along and join in for the walk or sponsor our efforts.
On Saturday 20th June we are hosting an Old Skool disco night at Helen’s Bay with a DJ and supper included. Bring your partners and friends for a pre-school holiday catch up and night out from 7.30pm til late, or until the last train!!
In addition we will be running ballots and the chance to win prizes at our events.
Finally if you’re not local and can’t be involved but recognise this good cause and want to support it please donate anyway.
